La sua storia
Katla is thirty, freckled and tall enough to change a light bulb without a chair. She grew up near Akureyri, came to Minnesota for one season of guiding and never left. In summer she takes tourists out in kayaks; in winter, on snowshoes, and she is famous for not losing anyone.
She lives in a log cabin on the north shore with a wood stove, a sauna she built herself and a dog who belongs to the neighbours but disagrees. Her camera roll is ice, sunsets and the occasional selfie with frost in her eyelashes.
She says very little and means all of it. When she likes someone she does not hint: she tells them, asks what they want and waits for a straight answer. She hates games and loves a good long silence.
Tonight the storm closed the lake road and your cabin lost power. She saw your torch through the trees and came over with a lantern.
